By Law 11

AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL BUDGERIGAR COUNCIL (A.N.B.C)  INC.
POLICY FOR CANCELLATION OF THE ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW AND ASSOCIATED EVENTS

Aim

  1. The aim of this By Law is to provide Council guidance for use in circumstances where the A.N.B.C. Annual Championship Show and associated events are cancelled for reasons involving issues which are beyond the fancy’s control.

Notification of Cancellation

  1. In circumstances where the A.N.B.C. Annual Championship Show is required to be cancelled be it for bio-security, natural disaster, Federal or State Government policy decisions or for any other reasons, the following guidelines are to apply in relation to notification:
    • Where the circumstances are advised directly to the A.N.B.C., the A.N.B.C. Secretary, after consultation with the executive, is to notify the host State/Zone Secretary in the first instance by phone with follow up confirmation by email.
    • Where the circumstances are advised directly to the Host State/Zone, The Host State/Zone Secretary is to notify the A.N.B.C. Secretary in the first instance by phone with follow up confirmation by email.
    • The A.N.B.C. Secretary, after consultation with the executive, is to advise each State/Zone Secretary by phone of any recommendation/s or the decision to cancel and the reasoning, with follow up confirmation by email.

Cancellation

  1. Where cancellation is determined and financially impacts the host State/Zone and the proceeding zone, the A.N.B.C. may reimburse reasonable venue hire costs and other substantiated out of pocket expenses to the States/Zones, following consideration of an application if these are not recoverable by the State/Zone and where the State/Zone does not have adequate insurance cover to meet these costs.

Reprogramming

  1. Once the cancellation has been officially confirmed and communicated to all States/Zones, the host State/Zone that was originally scheduled to hold the event may be given the opportunity to re-host it in a subsequent year. This decision will be made in consultation with the ANBC Executive and the representatives of the next Zone scheduled to organize the event.

If the current host State/Zone declines, the following State/Zone will be given the chance to host the event.

If the Zones cannot reach an agreement on who should host the event, the final decision will rest with the ANBC Executive.

The ANBC Executive will continue for an additional term as outlined in the Constitution.

Matters Unprovided For

  1. Any matters not covered by this By-Law will be addressed by the ANBC Executive in consultation with the host State/Zone. This includes situations where one or more States/Zones may be individually affected, as not all States/Zones may be impacted by an unforeseen event outside their control.
