The father-and-son partnership of Alan and Chris Druery stands as one of New South Wales’ most successful and enduring names in the Australian budgerigar scene. With a total of 16 ANBC National Class wins, their partnership has achieved remarkable consistency and excellence over multiple decades.

Entering the scene with early wins in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the Druery partnership quickly established themselves as formidable exhibitors. Their first class win came in 1986 in the Blue class, followed by two more wins in 1989 in Blue and Opaline. Additional victories were secured in Cinnamonwing (1990 and 1992), Hens Class (1990), and Dominant Pied (2001), among others.

The pair have displayed particular dominance in the Yellowfaced class, achieving five wins across 2000, 2001 (two wins), 2009, 2011, and 2015—highlighting their expertise in producing birds of exceptional colour and conformation. Further wins in Grey (2006), Blue (2012), Albino (2012), and Green (2018) demonstrate their versatility and depth across multiple varieties.

Alan and Chris’s achievements reflect not only breeding excellence but also a deep commitment to the hobby. Their contribution has helped elevate the standard of exhibition budgerigars in Australia and inspired a new generation of fanciers.
