ANBC Breeders Excellence Hall of Fame Induction: 2012 (posthumous)

Ross Loats was a respected budgerigar breeder based in Laen, just outside of Horsham in Victoria. To that end, Ross was known for his expertise in breeding amongst others, Lacewing budgerigars. His contributions to the Australian budgerigar community were significant, and he was regarded as a top breeder. Eventually this led to him being inducted into the ANBC Hall of Fame Breeder’s Excellence Category.

Ross’s dedication to the budgerigar fancy was evident through his active participation in the community and his commitment to breeding excellence. His passing was noted with great sadness among members of the Budgerigar Council of Victoria (BCV) and the Australian National Budgerigar Council (ANBC), reflecting the high esteem in which he was held.

Ross entered the ANBC Hall of Fame with six wins, a special case approved by the ANBC. However, posthumous, Ross won the Lutino class with a 2011 rung bird in 2012, giving him the full complement of 7 required wins.​
