Tasmanian Budgerigar Society – Summer Show 2026
The Tasmanian Budgerigar Society held its annual Summer Show on 14 March 2026 at the Midway Point Community Hall, delivering a strong exhibition to round out the Tasmanian show season.
A total of 143 young birds were benched across Novice, Intermediate and Open sections, supported by 52 adult entries and 5 UBC classes. The overall standard was consistent throughout, with quality birds evident across all sections.
Judging duties were carried out by Ray Slade (ANBC, Victoria) and probationary Tasmanian judge Andrew Johnson. Proceedings commenced at approximately 10:00am, with judges working steadily through the classes and identifying a number of standout exhibits.
Judging paused around midday for lunch, where members enjoyed a well-catered spread of sandwiches, pies and cakes — with the standout favourite being the freshly prepared crayfish rolls, a true Tasmanian highlight.
