The 2026 Hills Super Budgerigar Auction is set to be one of the standout budgerigar auctions on the Australian exhibition calendar. To that end, it is hosted by the Hills Budgerigar Club. This long-running event has built a strong reputation over more than 20 years. Moreover, it offers a carefully selected catalogue of high-quality exhibition budgerigars from some of Australia’s leading studs.
The auction will be held on Saturday 4 July 2026 at the Don Moore Community Centre, corner of North Rocks Road and Farnell Avenue, North Rocks. Viewing will take place from 8:30am to 10:00am, with the auction commencing at 10:00am. The auctioneer for the day will be James Matthews.

This year’s catalogue features an outstanding line-up of birds from highly respected breeders. With 147 lots catalogued, the sale includes a wide selection of exhibition budgerigars. These include Normals, Spangles, Lacewings, Fallows, Clearbodies, Recessive Pieds, Dominant Pieds, Clearwings, Opalines, Cinnamonwings, Greywings, Yellow Face and Goldenface varieties.
The catalogue also features several birds closely related to National winners and State Team representatives. This makes the auction an excellent opportunity for breeders looking to strengthen their breeding teams with quality bloodlines.

For those unable to attend in person, the auction will be available via live stream, with details to be circulated prior to the event. Please note that there will be no online bidding, although absentee and telephone bidding can be arranged with prior notice.
Successful bidders are responsible for arranging transport from the auction venue.
