Newcastle Auction 2026

The Newcastle Auction 2026 will bring together an outstanding selection of exhibition budgerigars from leading breeders across Australia. Hosted by the Newcastle Budgerigar Club, the live auction will be held on Saturday, 8 August 2026. It will take place at the Wallsend Pioneer Memorial Hall, 54 Cowper Street, Wallsend, New South Wales.

Viewing begins at 9:00 am, with the auction commencing promptly at 10:00 am.

This year’s Newcastle Budgerigar Club Auction features 167 lots supplied by 29 respected vendors from New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia.

The vendor list includes A & C Druery, Craig Barnett, Gary Gazzard, G & H Hibberd, J & W Weidenhofer, John Ennis, the Holmes Family, Boal Family, Eric Whitton, Ray Slade, Michael Pace, M & R Randall, Trevor Broadbent and many more.

Several participating breeders recorded wins at the 2026 Gold Coast National Championships, adding further interest to an already impressive catalogue.

An Outstanding Range of Budgerigar Varieties

The Newcastle Auction 2026 catalogue includes a broad selection of colours and varieties suited to exhibitors, breeders and variety specialists.

Birds on offer include Normal Greens, Greys, Grey Greens, Blues, Violets, Cinnamonwings, Opalines, Spangles, Dominant Pieds, Recessive Pieds, Lacewings, Lutinos, Fallows, Clearbodies, Dilutes, Darkwings, Clearwings, Australian White Caps, Golden Faces and Dark Eyed Clears.

Many lots feature proven breeding performance or close relationships to National winners and highly placed birds. The catalogue includes birds from successful National families, State Team Challenge performers, shield winners and established stud lines.

Buyers will find both young prospects and proven breeding birds. Moreover, detailed descriptions, pedigrees and ring numbers are provided for each lot.
