ANBC Presidents Report April 2026

It really is amazing to think about where our humble budgerigar has found itself in the world. The bird was exported in the tens of thousands in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Moreover, it was sold in markets for as little as half a penny. Now, it has become such a widely loved and admired bird across the globe today.

Regarding the ANBC raffle, Josh Porsh from North Coast Custom Cages kindly donates the prize, and attendees can purchase tickets through the Nationals registration form. Even if you are not attending the Nationals (though you might need a note from your mum explaining why!), you can still take part. You can do this by purchasing raffle tickets via this page.

The ANBC National Show Committee has been meeting monthly. In addition, it continues to explore new ideas to improve and enhance the National Show experience for everyone involved.

Our partnership with Mars Birdcare continues to be very rewarding. Their generous support once again provides carers’ shirts, lanyards, and additional sponsorship assistance.

And with Easter just around the corner, it’s a great opportunity for everyone to begin selecting birds for the upcoming club selection shows in May.

I would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Easter.
