ANBC President’s Report

Kathy Manton – ANBC President

The ANBC General Meeting was held on 12th October, and I believe by now that most would be aware of the outcome on the four motions that had been widely circulated for consideration across the Zones in the months prior. It was great to see such widespread discussion take place at local club membership level, ensuring that delegates could vote with confidence and truly represent the feedback from their Zones.

Each motion was discussed again at the ANBC meeting prior to Zone delegates casting their vote on behalf of their Zone members.

ANBC General Meeting – Motion Outcomes

Motion 1 – Ring Issue Date

To move the Ring Issue Date to 1st September, commencing in 2028.

Outcome: MOTION LOST

Motion 2 – National Championships Date

To move the ANBC National Championships to late July / early August.

Outcome: MOTION CARRIED

This will become effective from 2029, as WA have already set their show date for 2028.

Motion 3 – Judges’ Hall of Fame

To provide Judges’ Hall of Fame recognition to ANBC Judges upon reaching seven ANBC National appointments.

Outcome: MOTION LOST

Motion 4 – Normal Olive and Normal Mauve Classes

To introduce a dedicated Normal Class for Normal Olives and Normal Mauves at the ANBC National Championships.

Motions of Major Significance

The first two motions were considered items of Major Significance and thus required a 75% majority vote to be carried. To that end, any motions on matters of Major Significance cannot be varied or amended for a period of five years from the date of acceptance.
