Wayne & Andrew Cusack Auction 2 – 2026

The Wayne & Andrew Cusack Auction 2 – 2026 is now open, featuring 20 budgerigars from the respected Cusack family stud. This is the second of several auctions being held by the father/son partnership. It offers fanciers and breeders the opportunity to obtain birds from well-known and successful lines.

The birds offered in this auction are mostly lesser siblings to the Cusacks’ better birds, or birds bred from quality pairs that did not quite make the grade for them to retain. The auction also includes a couple of older birds that will no longer be used in their breeding program. These are cull birds from their good lines. Therefore, buyers have the opportunity to access birds from a family of budgerigars known for quality, consistency and strong facial features.

About the Cusack’s

Wayne Cusack has been highly successful over the past 30 years, with numerous birds representing New South Wales at the Australian National Budgerigar Council Nationals. He has bred five national winners, all in the Black Eyed Self class, and has earned his place in the ANBC Hall of Fame. Wayne has also won numerous Grand Champion and Section Champion awards across New South Wales. In addition, his breeding program is based on line-breeding. This produces birds with similar features, style and overall appearance.

Andrew Cusack has also achieved success at national level, with Normal Greys placing 6th in 2022, Clearwings placing 2nd in 2023, Clearwings placing 3rd in 2026, and Greywings placing 10th in 2026. Andrew has also won several Grand Champion and Section Champion awards throughout New South Wales.

Together, Wayne and Andrew have won numerous Best of Variety awards at shows. Their birds are closely connected, with many being semi-related across their studs, as they share a significant number of birds. Wayne and Andrew began showing in partnership on 4 June 2023 under the name A & W Cusack.

The 20 birds on offer include a strong selection of varieties, such as Black Eyed Whites, Cinnamonwings, Saddlebacks, Clearwings, Dilutes, Recessive Pieds, Fallows and more. This auction is a great opportunity for breeders looking to introduce or strengthen quality bloodlines. In particular, it is recommended for those wanting birds from a stud known for face, type and family consistency.
