BSSA Auction 20 for 2026 is now underway, bringing another quality selection of exhibition budgerigars to breeders across South Australia and interstate. Hosted by the Budgerigar Society of South Australia (BSSA), the online auction begins on Monday, 28 September 2026. It concludes on Sunday, 4 October 2026 at 7:00 pm ACDT, with extended bidding applying where required.

This latest South Australian budgerigar auction features birds offered by respected BSSA members Marie & Kerry Murphy, George England and Chris Murphy. This provides buyers with another opportunity to add useful breeding and exhibition stock to their aviaries.

A broad range of varieties is represented in BSSA Auction 20 2026. Varieties include Spangles, Cinnamonwings, Lacewings, Inos, Dilutes, Normal Grey Greens, Lutinos, Opaline Cinnamonwings, Spangle Opalines and Spangle Cinnamonwings.

Descriptions are provided in good faith from the individual sellers, and BSSA Inc is not responsible for inaccuracies within vendor descriptions. Bidding remains anonymous throughout the auction, with only each participant’s bidder number displayed. Successful buyers should also be aware of the location of each bird. This is important, as freight and transport costs remain the responsibility of the purchaser.

Buyers are encouraged to register a current telephone number to make post-auction contact easier. Almost all vendors are prepared to transport birds to the airport at no additional cost. Additionally, where possible, they will combine birds with other vendors to help reduce freight expenses.

Supporting the Budgerigar Hobby

The BSSA is a foundation member of the Australian National Budgerigar Council (ANBC). Today, the Society continues to promote the budgerigar hobby and support its members through shows, meetings, education and online auctions. The BSSA operates as a not-for-profit organisation. Proceeds from its auctions help support the club and the ongoing promotion of exhibition budgerigars.
