The Eric Whitton September 2026 Auction is now underway. There is a quality selection of 19 budgerigars available to breeders and exhibitors across Australia. The auction features a combination of Eric Whitton’s own-bred birds. In addition, the sale includes several purchased birds that are no longer required within his current breeding team. With a broad range of varieties represented, the auction provides breeders with the opportunity to introduce new bloodlines. It also allows them to strengthen existing families or add specialist varieties to their breeding programs.

19 Budgerigars Across a Range of Varieties
A total of 19 birds are available in the Eric Whitton September Auction, covering a diverse selection of varieties including Normal Blue, Cinnamonwing, Greywing, Spangle, Black Eyed Yellow, Lacewing, Recessive Pied, Clearbody and Darkwing. The majority of the birds have been bred by Eric Whitton. Meanwhile, the catalogue also includes birds originating from several well-known breeders within the Australian budgerigar fancy. These include birds bred by Anthony Starcevic, Wayne Cachia, Kevin Back and Ante Zupan. Therefore, bidders have access to several different breeding backgrounds within the one auction.
Eric Whitton Auction Dates
The Eric Whitton September 2026 Auction commenced on August 31, 2026. The auction will conclude on Monday, September 7, 2026 at 8:00 pm AEST. Extended bidding will apply, so bidders are encouraged to monitor their preferred lots closely as the auction approaches its closing time.
Pickup and Freight Options
Birds can be collected directly from Temora, NSW 2666. For interstate and distant purchasers, freight is also available from Wagga Wagga Airport. This provides additional transport options for successful bidders. Eric prefers to use Carmel from Aussie Pet Connections for bird transport. As a result, successful purchasers requiring freight can make arrangements following the auction.
