President’s Report – SQBBA
The year has commenced with the annual Australian Budgerigar Society Inc. Auction, which by all reports was a successful event, both socially and financially, and delivered a positive outcome for the club. Congratulations to all involved in its organisation and execution.
Looking ahead, the Moreton Budgerigar Club will be conducting its annual show on the first weekend of February. This event will include a Saturday evening presentation by South Australian breeder, Wayne Weidenhofer. I strongly encourage Brisbane breeders and fanciers to support the Moreton Club by attending this presentation. It promises to be both informative and inspiring.
Recently, the SQBBA member clubs convened for a special meeting to consider the adoption of a new constitution. With all 12 member clubs represented, the motion to adopt the revised constitution was carried. Importantly, this marks a significant step forward for the SQBBA. The previous constitution was drafted in an era well before modern communication technologies, and this comprehensive update ensures the Association is better aligned with contemporary practices and future requirements. As technology continues to evolve, it is essential that our governing documents evolve with it.
On the ANBC National Show front, the ANBC Hall of Fame – Service Division banners are currently in the process of being printed. These banners will provide long overdue and well-deserved recognition to individuals who have dedicated countless hours of service and commitment to the hobby and the ANBC.
