Now that all channels have returned to their normal programs after the 50th Annual Trill™ Expert ANBC National Championships, June has seen several club holding shows with the Bundaberg Canary and Cage Society Annual show having Wayne Robertson travel to Bundaberg to judge. Although not the high of winning a National, Glen and Lynne Ryan achieved Champion Bird of Show, with Terry and Marilyn Benbow taking the award for Champion Young Bird of Show. Full results below:

President Les Hamond reporting good numbers were present on the day and a great spread of exhibitors enjoying the show

Champion Bird of Show and Champion Young Bird of Show being awarded to the Boal Family with a nice Sky cock that missed zone selection because of a few damaged flights, a very nice bird that was too good on the day. Full results below

On the news front there is concern about the finding of H5N1 bird flu strain in Western Australia while this news is not great. I hope everyone heeds the warning but stay calm. I’ve been in agricultural industries and there has been incursions in various forms and the media coverage goes into overdrive with all doom and gloom and then in a week moves on. To the West Australian budgerigar community my thoughts are with you. Things will sort themselves out after the initial hype dies down.
